Molly and I recently took a week to drive through Albania, Macedonia and Kosovo. Each of these countries felt like a new frontier where a mountain range, river or lake created a natural border. Shifts in architecture, religious structures and people further illustrated that we were in fact in a new and unique place.

As we climbed the eastern mountains of Albania and drove up over the ridge, we knew we were suddenly in Macedonia, with Lake Ohrid glistening in the sun thousands of feet below us.

Below are snapshots of our drive throughout this region. We’ll follow up soon with blogs and more pictures from Ohrid, Skopje, Pristina and Prizren. Enjoy!
