Hiking the Vrmac Peninsula

The Vrmac Peninsula rises directly behind our house and divides the Bay of Kotor and the Bay of Tivat. From the ridge on the top of the peninsula you can see the Adriatic Ocean to the west and snow-capped Mount Lovcen to the east, Montenegro’s symbolic peak.

Over the top of the ridge we came across a mountain of garbage on the hillside of a mostly abandoned homestead. Past the homestead, seemingly out of nowhere, was a decaying WWII bunker overlooking the entirety of the bay.
